Indria Gandhi was born in 1917 and was the only chiled of Kamla and Jawaharlal Nehru.Indria spent part of her life in Allahabad and part in Switzerland. She got her college education at Somoverville College Oxford. Indria had got the offcial residence or place of her father and was with him on many foreign trips. In 1942 Indria Gandhi got married to Feroze Gandhi.He was disliked by his much more famous father in law, but he died in 1960. Indria’s father died in 1964. She had lots of skills and held the place of prime minister from 1966-1977. She ad led India into war with Pakistan in 1971. They found that in June of 1975, the high court of Allahabad found Indria Guilty of using illegal practies during the last election campaign. June 26,1975 she declared a state emergency which had limited freedom of Indians. In 1977 sh allowed free elections. She regained prime minister in 1980 and on October 31,1984 her bodyguards assassinated her. Indria had once said” Even if I died in the service of the nation, I would be proud of it. Every drop of my blood… will contribute to the growth of this nation and to make it strong and dynamic.”and she allso once said“If I die a violent death, as some fear and a few are plotting, I know that the violence will be in the thought and the action of the assassins, not in my dying.”
What I learned from writing this paper was that Indria Gandhi was the only child of Kamla and jawahrlal. Also I learned alot about the Indian culture. It was fun to explore new things or rather learn new things about Indria and India.I hope you liked my paper!!!!**
