International Newsbreak Guidelines and Resources

Filed under: Newsbreak Guidelines and Resources, International Newsbreak —— Mr. Hetherington @ 10:51 am

Every Friday we will have a 15 minute current events discussion. The class discussion will be centered around the Newsbreak posts published that week by three volunteer authors from your class.

International Newsbreak Posts Guidelines:

All news stories must be international in scope. The U.S. can be involved in the issue discussed, but the setting/location must be international. Possible topics include:

events, cultures, technology, economic, political, artistic and other.

Each newbreak post must include:

  • Title
  • Summary Paragraph at least 8 sentences long that fully explains the story. Your paragraph should be detailed and organized so that it stands on it’s own merits. Your reader should be able to understand your story without having prior knowledge of the topic.
  • A photo that is related to your story or topic
  • A hyperlink to the source or sources of your story
  • Your point of view on what you think about the story or why you found it interesting
